About the Host:
Catalina Magee was born in Romania and moved to Italy as a teenager where she had an early start in acting, modeling and photography. She made a name for herself in the European fashion world early on and worked as an actress, model and photographer from 2003 to 2016.
She founded Trend Privé Magazine in 2013, a humanitarian-focused, luxury magazine dedicated to promoting artists that create positive change through sustainable, eco-friendly and cruelty-free practices. Along with managing 638 team members and contributors from multiple countries around the world, she designed and published all issues, ran all social media channels and participated in the yearly Global Summit on Plant Science & Plant Physiology for the magazine’s humanitarian sector. In 2019, she sold the magazine to focus on her work in the government sector.
Catalina began her public service journey in 2015 with the U.S. Army MWR in Stuttgart, Germany, where she supported programs aimed at boosting soldier morale, improving single-soldier quality of life, reducing isolation, and promoting mental-health initiatives.
In 2017, she joined the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel. There, she developed educational and security materials—including a comprehensive security handbook—and contributed to DoD-supported products shared with the Defense Attaché Office, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and the U.S. Embassy Community Liaison Office.
In 2019, she moved to the State Department’s Regional Security Office in Tel Aviv, where she authored a second newcomers’ security handbook, developed the Security Directive for the new U.S. Embassy Jerusalem and the Tel Aviv Branch Office, and redesigned the SharePoint site supporting embassy security operations.
Later that year, Catalina joined the Naval Safety Command in Norfolk, Virginia as editor of the Navy’s aviation safety magazines, earning an achievement medal for her work.
She currently serves with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, while simultaneously pursuing multiple entrepreneurial ventures:
